With this tatami mat you can enjoy comfortable tatami mat life easily putting these mats on the floor.

This washable tatami mat looks like conventional tatami mat but the material and the manufacturing process are quite different. All material excluding cleat sheet is urethane. Even the surface is made from urethane. Whole tatami mat is made in the mold tool, that is, no sewing. This is why this tatami mat is washable.

Manufacturing technology and material are similar to automobile's instrument panels or arm rests.

When this option is specified, anti-bacterial agent is mixed with painting material.

------- General Explanation -------
Conventional tatami mat consists of 3 parts, they are, core (Goza or Toko), surface (Omote) and border (Heri).

Core is the base of Tatami mat. Washable Tatami Mat has urethane core, which is light and has heat insulating & sound absorbing characteristics. Traditional material is rice straw. Rice straw is natural but has some weak points. For example, it is heavy & weak in fungus & ticks and lifetime is short.

Surface is woven covering. Traditional material is rush grass (Igusa). The surface of Washable Tatami Mat is urethane and not woven, having more maintenancability, resistance to fungus & ticks.

Borders are edging made of cloth on the long sides. For Washable Tatami Mat , borders are not necessary.
