2.SILK SATIN WITH SPANDEX BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Satin has a glossy surface and a dull back,is commonly used in apparel: satin baseball jackets, athletic shorts, women's lingerie, nightgowns, blouses and evening gowns, but also in some men's boxer shorts, shirts and neckties. It is also used in the production of pointe shoes for use in ballet. Other uses include interior furnishing fabrics, upholstery, and bed sheets.Satin usual weight is 12 to 30 mm.Silk satin with spandex usual width is 108cm.

3.SILK FABRIC PROPERTIES AND USES

Silk is one of the strongest natural fibers but loses up to 20% of its strength when wet. It has a good moisture regain of 11%. Its elasticity is moderate to poor:It can be weakened if exposed to too much sunlight. It may also be attacked by insects, especially if left dirty.

Silk fabric has many distinct properties,such as comfortable feeling,thermal resistant,breathable,uvioresistant,heat retention,noise-absorbent,dust-absorbent,antistatic.It is often used for clothing such as shirts, ties, blouses, formal dresses(eg.cheongsam dress),high fashion clothes, lingerie, pyjamas, robes, dress suits, sun dresses and Eastern folk costumes. Silk's attractive lustre and drape makes it suitable for many furnishing applications. It is used for upholstery, wall coverings, window treatments (if blended with another fiber), rugs, bedding and wall hangings.

Most silk fabrics are easily crinkled.Silk fabric has a properity of shrinkage,so it should be washed under 30°C before garment construction.There is almost no gradual shrinkage nor shrinkage after washing procedure.Line dry the washed fabric in shade,no overlapping.Do not soak silk fabric,this is very important.
